Artist Spotlight: VANA

Originally emerging from the underground scene in New Zealand, self-taught artist VANA recently signed with Sumerian Records. Another milestone came earlier this year when they were on the bill as a support act for Linkin Park, before later commencing their first ever US headline tour.

Driven by genre blending, their music pulls influence from dark electro-pop and metal breakdowns.

VANA’s latest single, 'In Your Name', perfectly demonstrates their dynamic range. The track opens as an atmospheric ballad carried by eerily sweet vocals. Entirely tricking the listener into a false sense of security, before completely ripping it up. The final minute drops a total "holy shit" moment, completely switching gears into a blistering assault of visceral screams and metalcore battery.

This bold duality is what makes VANA’s music so addictive. If you are a fan of Poppy or Spiritbox, they are an absolute must-add for your playlist.
